Learn Sound Baths, Voice Activation, Nada Yoga & Sound Healing Instruments in Ubud
December 11 - 15, 2026
The Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali
Are you curious about the healing power of sound and vibration?
Would you love to learn how to work with your voice, mantra and different sound healing instruments and create meaningful sound journeys for yourself or others?
This 5-day Sound Healing Training in Bali is a deep and practical journey into sound, vibration, voice, meditation and intuitive music. Guided by Punnu Wasu and professional musicians, you will explore sound through both experience and practice. You will receive sound healing sessions, work with your own voice, discover different instruments and learn how sound can support relaxation, meditation, emotional well-being, self-awareness and inner connection.
The training brings together ancient sound practices and contemporary approaches, including Nada Yoga, mantra, voice activation, toning and intuitive instrumental work. You will not only learn techniques. You will also learn how to listen more deeply — to sound, to silence, to the people you work with and to yourself.
Whether you want to explore sound healing for your own personal journey, add sound to your existing work or begin sharing sound baths and sound journeys with others, this training gives you a strong and inspiring foundation.
You do not need:
• Previous sound healing experience
• To be a musician or singer
• To know how to read music
Beginners are warmly welcome. Musicians, yoga teachers, meditation teachers, therapists and experienced practitioners can also deepen their skills and discover new ways of working with sound.
What matters most is your curiosity, openness and willingness to explore.
Why Join This Sound Healing Training?
Sound has the ability to reach us beyond words. A single tone, vibration or voice can bring us into stillness, awaken emotion, change the atmosphere of a space and invite us to listen more deeply. During this Sound Healing Training in Ubud, you will explore sound from different perspectives: practical, musical, meditative, energetic and spiritual.
You will learn through listening, receiving, experimenting and practising. The training includes hands-on experience with different sound healing instruments as well as voice activation, mantra, Nada Yoga, meditation and intuitive sound. You will also explore how to create and structure a sound journey, how to begin and close a session and how to hold a grounded and supportive space for individuals and groups.
The aim is not to become a perfect musician. It is to develop sensitivity, presence, intuition, confidence and a deeper relationship with sound, learning to trust what you feel, listen more deeply and respond naturally in the moment.
What Is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is the intentional use of sound, vibration, voice and music to support relaxation, meditation, awareness and well-being. Sound has been used in spiritual and healing traditions around the world for thousands of years. Different cultures have worked with voice, chanting, drums, bells, gongs, singing bowls, mantra and other forms of sacred sound as part of meditation, ceremony and community practice.
Modern sound healing can include many different approaches, such as sound baths, singing bowls, gongs, voice, mantra, tuning, toning, overtone singing, drums and other acoustic instruments. A sound bath is usually a meditative experience in which participants rest while listening to and feeling different sounds and vibrations.
The purpose is not to perform music in the traditional sense. Instead, the facilitator creates an intentional journey of sound and silence that may support deep relaxation, inner awareness and a greater sense of connection.
Sound Healing Is More Than Playing Instruments
Sound healing is not simply about learning how to strike a bowl or play a gong. The quality of a sound journey also comes from the person creating it.
Presence matters. Listening matters. Timing matters. Silence matters. During the training, you will learn to listen carefully and respond rather than simply play one sound after another.
You will explore how different sounds work together, how to use space and silence, how to follow the natural flow of a session and how to create a supportive atmosphere for the people receiving it. This is one of the most important parts of learning to work with sound.
Voice Activation & The Healing Power of Your Own Voice
Your voice is one of the most personal and powerful instruments you have, and it is always with you. During the training, you will explore your natural voice through breath, sound, mantra, toning, chanting and voice activation practices.
You do not need to consider yourself a singer. The purpose is not to create a perfect voice, but to become more comfortable with your own sound and learn how to use your voice with awareness, confidence and authenticity.
Through guided practices, you will explore breath, tone, resonance and vibration and experience how your own voice feels in your body. You may also explore devotional mantra singing and overtone practices as part of your journey into sound.
Nada Yoga - The Yoga of Sound
Nada Yoga is an ancient yogic practice based on deep listening and awareness of sound.
“Nada” means sound or vibration. Through this practice, you become more sensitive to external sounds, subtle inner sounds and silence.
During the training, Nada Yoga is combined with meditation, voice, mantra and instruments. It helps you develop one of the most important skills in sound healing: the ability to truly listen.
Learn To Work With Sound Healing Instruments
During this hands-on Sound Healing Training, you will have the opportunity to experience and practise with a variety of instruments. Depending on what is available during the training, these may include different sound healing and acoustic instruments, percussion and voice.
Rather than simply learning how to make a sound, you will explore how to use instruments consciously and intuitively. You will practise:
• Listening to the quality and vibration of each instrument
• Playing with sensitivity and awareness
• Combining different sounds
• Creating contrast between sound and silence
• Exploring rhythm, tone and vibration
• Choosing instruments for different parts of a sound journey
• Moving naturally from one sound to another
• Developing your own intuitive relationship with the instruments
All instruments needed for practice during the training are provided, and you are also welcome to bring your own instrument if you have one.
Learn How To Create A Sound Journey
One of the important practical parts of the training is learning how to create a sound journey and how a session can move naturally from beginning to end.
This includes:
• Preparing yourself and the space
• Opening a sound healing session
• Creating a calm and grounded atmosphere
• Working with voice and instruments
• Using silence intentionally
• Building and releasing intensity
• Listening and responding to the group
• Creating flow between different instruments
• Closing a session gently
• Allowing time for integration
• Holding space with presence and sensitivity
You will have opportunities to practise in groups and in one-to-one exercises. The training includes both receiving and giving, because experiencing sound as a participant can teach you just as much as learning how to create it.
Sound Healing For Yoga Teachers, Meditation Teachers & Holistic Practitioners
Sound can be a beautiful addition to many existing practices. Yoga teachers may use sound during Savasana, meditation or relaxation, while meditation teachers may work with voice, mantra, bowls or other instruments to support concentration, relaxation and inner awareness.
Reiki practitioners, holistic practitioners and retreat leaders may also choose to integrate gentle sound into sessions, ceremonies, group relaxation, meditation or closing practices. During the training, you will explore ways to bring sound into your existing work in a simple, sensitive and authentic way.
The training is also completely suitable if you do not work professionally with other people. Many students join simply because they love sound and want to explore it for themselves.
The Experience Of Receiving Sound
An important part of learning sound healing is receiving it yourself. During the training, you will experience sound healing sessions and sound immersions with Punnu and professional musicians.
Receiving allows you to experience how sound feels from the other side. You begin to notice which sounds feel calming, which sounds create intensity, how transitions affect your experience and how silence can sometimes be as powerful as the sound itself.
These experiences help you become a more sensitive, present and aware practitioner.

I’ve been present at many of Punnu's sound baths over the years and I’ll keep coming back. The vibrations and healing sensations he creates with his instruments and soulful voice are from another world. He is truly amazing! Wonderful experience for the mind and soul... never expected music can be such a strong power to heal. It's always one of my highlights when travelling to Bali for receiving a session or joining as a student... feeling blessed with Punnu and his musician friends. I highly recommend his sound healing events and training to anyone interested!
