ANANDA MANDALA MEDITATION
Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays 3:00-4:30pm

Ananda means “bliss” in Sanskrit. It is our fundamental state of being. Mandala means “circle“. The circle is a symbol of perfection, eternity, unity and completeness. It is an ancient and very powerful chakra clearing meditation. This practice involves a blend of rhythmic fast breathing and meditation on the 7 main chakras. This process cleanses the energy channels, washes out hidden emotions/blockages/old hurts, activates the chakras which raise your level of consciousness, makes your body blissful and results in a feeling of wholeness.

SOUND HEALING
Wednesdays & Thursdays 3:00-4:30pm

Sound Healing is a profound and powerful experience of healing sound and vibration. It helps reduce stress, alter consciousness and create a deep sense of harmony & peace and well being.
Participants lie comfortably on mats on the floor, while listening to a variety of acoustic instruments and voices. Every “Sound Journey” is different, as it is essentially an intuitive, shamanic process, requiring a deep sensitivity for what is needed in the moment.
The sacred instruments are played around and over those lying on the floor. Each person gets to feel at the physical level the vibrations of many of the instruments.
The sound is kept at a very subtle level. The sound is constant, and assists the participants to forget the density of the physical body. The spirit or soul is then free to travel. Sound, especially unstructured sound, bypasses the intellectual, analytical hemisphere of the brain, allowing the creative, intuitive hemisphere to have free reign.
A specific objective can be established before the Sound Journey begins, for example asking to receive guidance in resolving an issue in one’s life. Some people receive visions and symbols.

Indian Classical Music
Monday 17th, 7:30-9:30pm

The origins of Classical Indian music are found in the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of the Hindu tradition. This chanting style evolved into jatis and eventually into ragas. If sung properly, ragas are believed to have healing properties. Indian classical music is monophonic in nature and based on a single melody line, which is played over a fixed drone. The focus is on exploring the raga, performances have traditionally been solo endeavours, but duets are gaining in popularity and there is great emphasis on improvisation, no two performances will be exactly alike!

1-DAY MEDITATION COURSE

on August 28th, from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, register through The Yoga Barn at reception or call +62 361 971 407

What is meditation?
Meditation is a journey from sound to silence, from movement to stillness. Music is food for emotions, knowledge is food for the intellect, entertainment is food for the mind and meditation is the food for our soul or spirit. Everything has its significance and has its own value, but in meditation you become so quiet, you become so deep. Meditation uplifts you and brings value to everything. Therefore, everything becomes more meaningful if you have meditation in life.

Benefits of meditation

– Meditation creates positive and harmonious energy around you – It improves health – It is a big help in preventing many of the mental and physical illnesses – The mind becomes clear – Intuition develops – Obstacles and negative influences are removed and problems become small before coming to you – Mental peace – Improves concentration – It helps you to be in the present moment – It helps in studies, because it calms your mind, improves circulation and energizes your whole system etc.

The rest you gain in meditation is deeper than the deepest sleep. Just a few minutes of meditation is equivalent to nearly four hours of sleep. In meditation – your mind is alert, and all other organs are in deep rest. It is said that meditation is the purest form of prayer.

During this 1-day workshop you will learn the following 5 different meditation techniques:

Dynamic Meditation: This meditation is a fast, intense and thorough way to break old, ingrained patterns in the bodymind that keep one imprisoned in the past, and to experience the freedom, the witnessing, silence and peace that are hidden behind these prison walls.

Chakra Dhyana: This is a very powerful meditation known to the Indian seers for over 5000 years. This practice basically involves concentration on your 7 main chakras or energy centres in the psychic body. Activation of these chakras would mean opening up of various doors of your consciousness, thereby taking you to your higher consciousness of existence.

Dhyana Yoga: Dhyana is derived from the word “Dhyai” which means, “to think of”. When you practice Dhyana Yoga, you are meditating on a single flow of idea. You go into a state of revolving only on that chosen object and at the same time deepening your process of concentration. The aim is to withdraw all senses from various objects of interest and focus on one object. Dhyan Yoga produces a state of tranquillity.

Ananda Mandala: This is an ancient fast breathing meditation. It will help you to get in touch with your higher energies and will make your body blissful. This meditation will wash out all other hidden emotions, which are inside you. It is a very powerful and cleansing meditation.

Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra has been known for thousands of years by the sages and yogis. It is a state of conscious deep sleep – Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep and it brings an incredible calmness, quietness, relaxation and clarity. It is one of the deepest of all meditations, leading awareness through many levels of mental process to a state of supreme stillness and insight. – In Yoga Nidra, you leave the waking state, go through the dreaming state, and into the deep sleep state, yet remain fully awake.

Kundalini Meditation: Being fully immersed in the shaking and dancing of the first two stages helps to “melt” the rock-like being, wherever the energy flow has been repressed and blocked. Then that energy can flow, dance and be transformed into bliss and joy. The last two stages enable all this energy to flow vertically, to move upwards into silcence. It is a highly effective way of unwinding and letting go at the end of the day.

Reiki is renowned for deep relaxation, stress relief and natural healing. It is a simple and powerful “laying on hands” energy balancing technique which is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to become sick and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Feelings of tranquillity and peace are often experienced after giving/receiving Reiki sessions along with a renewed capacity to cope with the pressures of our busy daily lives. You will be attuned to the Reiki healing energy and learn how to give a full treatment to others and yourself in order to activate the natural healing process and restore physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. All levels are welcome and all students will receive certificate of Reiki level 1.
